Who is the author?
Sandra Nobre, journalist, storyteller, writer. She loves writing and has a passion for books and stationery. Letters are an old passion. "Letters to Sandra," by Virgílio Ferreira, has been her bedside book since adolescence. She has never stopped writing letters and postcards. For a long time, Ah!Saudade was an idea in a notebook waiting to materialize. The time has come for them to start circulating and take a little bit of Portugal to the world.
When can I sign the letters?
At any time. When you subscribe, we immediately begin taking care of your mail and you start receiving the letter of the month, as announced in the "Letters" section of the website, which indicates the theme, holiday, or betrayal to which the letter refers.
At what time of the month will my letter arrive?
There's no set date. We'll ensure that mail delays aren't an excuse, so we always want to surprise you and can deliver to your mailbox at any time.
Can I request that the letter arrive on a specific date?
These can be gifts with a specific date; in that case, send us a message so we can schedule the shipment. To guarantee delivery on time, shipments with a specific date are subject to an additional "Green Mail" fee charged by CTT (Portuguese postal service), which varies depending on whether it's within Portugal or from country to country. If you prefer, we can also send it by registered mail, which will incur an additional cost.
If you give a letter, will the recipient know who sent it?
Yes, along with the letter we will send a card with the message: “This letter is a memento from someone you know who enjoys reading, appreciates the details, and will smile upon receiving mail,” indicating who it is from and for whom it is addressed.
Can I change the recipient's address?
Yes, provided you notify us one month in advance to prevent mail from continuing to be sent to the address initially provided. Contact us to update your information and ensure you continue receiving mail at your desired address.
What content can I expect in the letters?
The cards cover diverse themes, recall Portuguese traditions, and celebrate the festive dates of the national calendar – which don't always coincide in every country. Each year we will add new themes each month. The approach never touches on sensitive topics, such as political or religious ideas, for example, which could cause discomfort. We want the cards to evoke emotions, tears, and smiles, but always to be good memories.
What age group are the letters intended for?
The letters are for adults of all ages. The tone and language aim to be accessible to everyone, with stories of a universal nature, regardless of age or academic background.
Are the letters handwritten?
No, but the typography used was intended to evoke typing. The illustrations or drawings are original and developed for Ah!Saudade and produced by each artist according to their technique, whether watercolor, drawing or any other method, and are then reproduced digitally.
Are all the cards illustrated?
As a general rule, yes, but they can be accompanied by drawings, photographs, or other artistic elements. Let's see where our imagination takes us…
How do I know if this is an original Ah!Saudade letter?
The Ah!Saudade mail is always identified with the brand's stamp and label. The letters circulate in green envelopes and are authenticated with a white stamp.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, but they require payment of the respective shipping costs. In the case of products in the "Collector's Edition" section, shipments to the United States of America are not possible due to current legal restrictions, but letters can be sent to any country.
